SLA Mid-Year Accomplishments

  • 7 Town Halls with President Papadakis planned for 2007-08 SY
  • Luncheon with SVP Jim Tucker scheduled
  • Council of Presidents Dinner held with student org leaders and key administrators. Results being evaluated
  • Maintained progress and student input with new Recreation Center, 2 SLA members on the steering committee
  • Secured a 50% match in funding to expand the Infonet (up to 4 additional screens)
  • Granted funding for CI2 for 50% of the cost
  • Allotted $5,000 from SVP Jim Tucker for bike racks around campus to be installed Winter Term
  • Screens installed at shuttle stops to improve communication about shuttle schedule and punctuality
  • Recycling in Residence Halls re-evaluated. All halls being properly equipped with bins. Pilot program instituted in Calhoun Hall to increase awareness.
  • Partnered with Business Services to form Dining Services Committee
  • Recruited members for alumni boards
  • Recognized need to Transfer Student representation
  • Advocated for and granted after-hours assistance to student orgs concerning events services, dining services, and public safety
  • Had $25,000 started for student orgs to assuage set-up costs
  • Wireless capabilities improved in Greek Housing
  • Assisted in launch of and promoted SEPTA ComPass Program
  • Created liaisons between the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), and International Student Advisory Board (ISAB)
  • Continued and expanded “Tees for Threes” program
  • Assisted in USGA partnership with the DAC Pack
  • Facilitated student interview sessions with Associate Senior Vice President for Public Safety and Executive Director of Equal Opportunity
  • Invited to and attended Commuter Connection Day, International Student Orientation, and Multi-Cultural Student Reception
  • Revamping Transfer Student Orientation
  • Stoplight and pedestrian crosswalk approved by the city and funded by Drexel at 34th and Lancaster
  • Contributed 2 student representatives to SVP Jim Tucker’s Environmental Sustainability Committee
  • Recognized need for re-evaluation of available student space
  • Partnered with Public Safety to increase availability of escort service during finals week, Fall Term
