Name: Lucas Hippel
Position: President
Major: Chemical Engineering
About Yourself:
My name is Lucas Hippel. I am a junior in Drexel's Chemical Engineering program. I'm on the varsity cheerleading team, been doing that for 2 years now. I'm an avid surfer and beach volleyball player from Cape May, NJ. I'm the USGA Greek Life Representative/Student Life Chair, the Community Service Chair for the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
Goals
as President of Drexel USGA:
I want to raise student pride and involvement at Drexel. So many students attend a four-year college and emerge encumbered by accrued loans and debts,
and look back to say that they were never able to take full advantage of what University life had to offer. Outsiders may say “Look at Villanova or Towson, look how impassioned their students
are!” I believe Drexel students are as impassioned. What I can promise you is that each decision I make will be accompanied by the thought, “How will this positively affect a student’s feelings
about being at Drexel?” With this forethought, I can represent you as a hard-working, knowledgeable student ambassador.
Name: Olivia McDonnell
Position: Archivist
Major:

I strongly believe every Drexel student will have a unique experience. I encourage students to find their passions and utilize all the wonderful resources our university can offer them.
Get involved, study abroad, explore the city of Philadelphia; make your Drexel experience your own. These are the days that will make the memories that will last a lifetime, enjoy them to the
fullest!
Goals as Archivist of Drexel USGA:
As archivist I hope to listen to your suggestions for the university, especially the library and study areas. The library is extremely
important to creating a successful learning involvement, I want to make it something all Drexel students enjoy utilizing. I also hope to improve the university to benefit the students as a whole.
If you have any suggestions, let me know!

Name: Bhanu "BK" Trehan
Position: School of
Biomedical Engineering Rep
Major: Biomedical Engineering
About Yourself:
Hey guys! I’m BK Trehan, your School of Biomedical Engineering representative. I am
currently a junior at Drexel, so I have 2 years to reform student activity within the school.
So a little bit about myself…I am a DJ currently working at a few Philadelphia spots and also
running a business for private parties which occur on the weekends. I love to dance, organize
events, and make sure that everyone has a good time. I think that it is important to work hard
and play hard, which is exactly what I do here at Drexel.
Goals as Drexel USGA School of
Biomedical Engineering Rep:
One of the major problems I see with the biomed students is lack of participation with campus
activities. This is shown by the fact that we don’t have any recognized student organizations
directly affiliated with the school. We currently have two undergraduate clubs, so my first goal
will be to get recognition.
My second goal is to bring the biomed students together. I would like to create a network
of students so that new students have upper classmen to go to for questions. This can be
achieved through hosting events for the school, at which I will make sure everyone has an
excellent time.
If you see me on campus, feel free to come up and talk to me. I am open to suggestions and
have no problem voicing an opinion on behalf of my fellow students.

Goals as Drexel USGA Greek Life Rep:
One of my main goals for my position is to use the Greek Student network to help spread the word about USGA. Name: Justine Woo
Position: Transfer
Student Representative
Major: Business Administration
About Yourself:
I am a senior in the LeBow College of Business and a double concentration in marketing
and finance. I am one of the founders of Alpha Kappa Psi the Co-Ed Professional Business
Fraternity. This year in my fraternity I have been given the position of social chair which I am
really looking forward to. I actually came to Drexel my freshman year then went to Rutgers
University in New Brunswick for my sophomore year. As you can tell my experience there was
not what I expected and that is why I am back here. I encountered a lot when I was at Rutgers
and some were not as good as others. That is why I want to give back to Drexel and make sure
that all transfer students won’t have to go through what I went through and to actually enjoy their
college experience at a new school.
Goals as Drexel USGA Transfer Student Rep:
As your Transfer Student Representative, I will try my best to make sure that all transfer
students will have an easy transition into the university. I will interact with them as much
as possible and try to deal with any issues that may arise in the future so they won’t
happen again. I would like to create events or socials so everybody could get to know each
other along with feeding information to them about academics, clubs, activities, and etc.
When I was at Rutgers, I learned that people had their cliques already since they were
freshman, and coming to a new school it was difficult to make friends since I was not around
other transfer students, but around students who have been going there since freshman
year. I believe that the people you are surrounded with create your experience at any
university in a positive or negative way. So I hope to try and engage all current students to
interact with transfer students and make them feel like they have always been to Drexel.
I am looking forward to working/meeting with all transfer students, and making their transition to
Drexel University a positive unforgettable one.

Name: Jonathan Stanley
Position:
Residential Representative
Major: Computer Engineering
About Yourself:
My name is Jonathan Stanley and I am currently a freshman majoring in Computer Engineering. I am from Germantown, Maryland, which is about 45 minutes away from D.C. and Baltimore. In the fall of my freshman year I was lucky enough to pledge Alpha Pi Lambda. I am currently scholastic chair of the fraternity. Although I have only gone twice, I would say that my favorite activity is paintball. I joined the USGA so that I could help future students connect with each other more.
Goals as Drexel USGA Residential Living Rep:
My main goal is for students to feel at home when they are at Drexel. Students shouldn’t have to feel stressed all the time due to their workload. College is a place where people from many different backgrounds can come together and become friends. As the new Residential Living Representative, I want students to feel comfortable around each other just as a family members would. When you think about, that’s what the student body of Drexel is, a family.
Name: Omer Hashmi
Position: Co-op Representative
Major: Chemical Engineering
About Yourself:
I am a second year Chemical Engineering student student at Drexel who believes in creating a difference. I love playing soccer, cricket, table tennis and David Beckham is my favorite player, although I like Christiano Ronaldo's hairdo a lot!
A Few weeks ago, I was giving a tour of Drexel to high school students and had this honest conversation with a high school student who mentioned one of his main reasons for choosing Drexel was the un-believable coop experience. It stuck to me at that time that in these tough economic times, this program becomes even more crucial for current and in-coming students at Drexel. At that instance, I decided to run for the position of Cooperative education representative and be the voice of fellow Drexel Dragons.
Goals as Drexel USGA Co-Op Rep: The bigger picture would have me acting as a link between students and the administrators of the coop program. One of my immediate short term goals is to have a plan for students who get laid off from their internships. Also in the near future, I would like to increase awareness amongst students on how to perform independent job search for their coop programs. Times have changed and having an electronic presence is the need of the hour. Websites like LinkedIn are present for all of us to benefit from. Finally, I would try to get in touch with employers to offer more green jobs to the Drexel Community.
